Eight Spots Remain For Indiana Hunter Education Class

Hunter Class edi tedHUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – Only eight spots remain for the Indiana Hunter Education Class, scheduled Friday and Saturday, February 18 and 19, at the Huntingburg Conservation Club House. The classes will run from 5:45 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday and from 7:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. Participants must attend both days to completed the course.

Sponsored by the Huntingburg Conservation Club, the free course is available to all Indiana residents. All instruction will be by Indiana conservation officers and certified Indiana volunteer hunter education instructions. Certification is required for anone born after December 31, 1986, who wishes to purchase an Indiana hunting licenese.

The course will cover ethics, safety, laws, survival, and safe handling practices for archery, black powder, and firearms. Lunch and snacks will be provided for participants and attending family memberes. Meals provided will include a snack on Friday along with lunch and dinner Saturday. Costs is $15 for the first family member and $10 for each additional member. Parent’s participation is encouraged. A parent or guardian must attend with children under 12 years of age.
