Marcella A. “Sally” Lindauer, 88, Jasper

Sally LindauerMarcella A. “Sally” Lindauer, 88, of Jasper, died Tuesday (February 9) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Fulda September 25, 1927, to August and Clara (Nielander) Boehm. She married Linus J. Lindauer October 21, 1947, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda. He died October 7, 1997.

Sally retired from the Jasper Holiday Inn in December of 1995, where she had worked in the housekeeping department for 30 years. She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, the Ladies Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Daughters of Isabella, the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was a volunteer worker at Memorial Hospital. She loved flowers and mowing and working on the lawn, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by four daughters, Shirley Greulich, and husband, Darrell, Ireland, Brenda Young and husband, Russ, Morton, Illinois; Donna Linesch and husband, Doug. Florence, Kentucky, and Cheryl Greive, her daughter and caregiver, Jasper; two sons, Arnie Lindauer, and wife Mary, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, and Steve Lindauer and wife, Cindy Hudson Lindauer, Jasper; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Claude Boehm and wife Maryetta, Fulda.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three sisters, Corina Hildenbrand, Esther Harpenau, and Mary Ann Jochem, and four brothers, Karl, Cletus, Sylvester, and Edward Boehm.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper and from 9-10 a.m. Friday at Precious Blood Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Precious Blood Catholic Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be made at Funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday at Precious Blood Church, with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.
