Steve K. Hunter, 65, Holland

Steve HunterSteve K. Hunter, 65, of Holland, died Friday (February 5) at his home. He was born in Huntingburg May 18, 1950 to Eugene and Alma (Hildebrand) Hunter.

Steve was self-employed and owner of Steve Hunter Trucking. He served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971. He was a member of the Zoar United Methodist Church and Huntingburg VFW Post No. 23666. For many years he participated as a player, manager, and statistician in many area softball leagues and was known for maintaining statistics for local baseball and softball teams. He was an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants.

He is survived by two brothers, Jason Hunter and wife Betty, Nashville, Tennessee, and Robert Hunter and wife Charlotte, Holland; and nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Suzanne Hunter, who died in infancy.

Friends may call from 1-6 p.m. Sunday at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at Zoar United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions can be made to a favorite charity. Condolences may be shared online at www.nassandson.com. Funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zoar United Methodist Church with burial following in the Zoar Cemetery. Pastor Keith Chanley will officiate. Military graveside rites will be conducted by a combined American Legion and VFW memorial detail.
