Southridge Upsets Princeton in 3A Sectional Semis

PRINCETON (NNDC) – Kaylaby Voegerl’s two free throws in the final minute were the difference as the Lady Raiders hang on to upset number one ranked Princeton, the defending 3A state champion, 34-33 in the 3A sectional semifinals Friday night on the Lady Tigers home court.

PRINCETON, Ind. – Southridge overcame a four-point halftime deficit to beat Princeton, 34-33, in the Class 3A sectional at Princeton.

Kayla Voegerl scored 23 including all of the Raiders eight fourth quarter points.

Indiana’s all-time leading scorer Jackie Young scored 26 in her last game for the Tigers.   She has already committed to play in college at Notre Dame.

Princeton, ranked No. 1 in Class 3A all season long had its state best 53-game winning streak snapped.

Southridge will play Vincennes Lincoln in the sectional final Saturday night.
