Cynthia J. Wyland, 59, Dubois

Cynthia WigandCynthia J. Wyland, 59, of Dubois, died Thursday (January 28) at Springs Valley Meadows in French Lick. She was born in Dubois September 10, 1956, to Edwin J. “Spider” and Madlyn (Opel) Matheis.

Cynthia was a member of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois and a 1975 graduate of Dubois High School. She enjoyed playing softball, tennis, and billiards, and spending time with family and friends, and spoiling her grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Jacque M. Gilliard and husband George, Charleston, South Carolina; one son, Michael Wyland, Jacksonville, Florida; four grandchildren, Nicklaus and Ashley Wyland and Briana and Jayden Gilliard; and four brothers, Alan Matheis and wife Donna and Nick Matheis and wife Lisa, all of Dubois, Larry Matheis and wife Angie, Lamar, and Curt Matheis and wife Connie, Celestine.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Kleinhelter, and one brother, William A. Matheis.

Friends may call from 9-11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Raphael’s Church in Dubois. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Raphael’s Church or to a favorite charity.
