Wanda L. Letterman, 79, Haysville

Wanda LettermanWanda L. Letterman, 79, of Haysville, died Saturday (January 23) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Dubois July 12, 1936, to Rosaline Baer. She married Stanley Letterman January 28, 1958, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville.

Wanda was a graduate of Dubois High School and worked at the Jasper Glove Company in Jasper for many years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and WELCA of St. Paul’s.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley Letterman; two sons, Michael Letterman, Jasper, and Robert Letterman, Loogootee; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Phyllis Pieper and husband Ben, Dubois, and Sue Striegel, Dubois; and one brother, Terry Baer, Dubois.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Stanley Letterman Jr.. and one brother, Philmore Baer Jr.

Friends may call from noon-7 p.m. Monday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Church or to a favorite charity. Funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Charla Grieves will officiate.
