Applications Being Accepted For Sheriffs’ Scholarships

Dubois County Sheriff's DepartmentJASPER (NNDC) – The Indiana Sheriffs’ Association is again awarding college scholarships to qualified high school seniors or college students who are pursuing a degree in criminal justice students. There will be approximately 40 $500 scholarships, including one in Dubois County, awarded to qualifying students throughout the state.

Dubois County Sheriff Donny Lampert says to qualify for one of these scholarships, the applicant must be an Indiana resident, be a current member of the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association or a dependent child or grandchild of a current member of the association, attend an Indiana college or university, major in a law enforcement field, and enroll as a full-time student (12 hours).

Application forms for the scholarships are available from your high school counselor, the sheriff’s office, or by writing to the Indiana Sheriff’s Association, 147 E. Maryland St., Indianapolis, IN 46204-3608, and requesting an application form. The application form can also be downloaded from the Indiana Sheriff’s Association website – The applications must be completed and received by the Indiana Sheriff’s Association on or before April 1.
