Edwina O. Seaton, 88, Jasper

Edwina SeatonEdwina O. Seaton, 88, of Jasper, died Friday (January 15) at the Northwood Retirement Center in Jasper. She was born in St. Meinrad January 21, 1927, to Bernard and Theresia (Pund) Otto. She married Walter Guido Seaton October 25, 1947, at St. Meinrad Archabbey Catholic Church.

Edwina worked at the Jasper Library for many years and for Kimball International and Huntingburg General Electric. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, the St. Ann’s Society, Daughters of Isabella, V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Original Homemakers Club. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and sports.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Guido Seaton; four daughters, Martha Hartz and husband Tony and LaDonna Joergens, all of Evansville, and Lois Kuntz and Bridget Seaton, both of Jasper; two sons, Roger Seaton and wife Marla, Melbourne, Florida, and Rob Seaton, Ferdinand; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Ann Sander and husband Denis, Dubois.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Martina Sublett, four brothers, Lucas, Robert, Edwin, and Leo Otto, and one daughter-in-law, Jenny Seaton.

Friends may call from noon-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. The rosary will be prayed at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, led by the Daughters of Isabella and the St. Ann Society. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church or to the Northwood Retirement Community. Condolences may be made at www.becherkluesner.com.
