David M. Huffer, 73, Jasper

David HufferDavid M. Huffer, 73, of Jasper, died Friday (January 15) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, April 18, 1942, to Merle and Maybelle (Phillips) Huffer. He married Rachel (Jeannie) Gerhardt April 25, 1969, in Circleville, Ohio.

David worked as a salesman for 40 years and received a number of awards for excellence in sales. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the NRA. He enjoyed golfing and gun collecting, and stamp collecting, and stayed active running a home based business.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel (Jeannie) Huffer; one daughter,k Shawna Dollaway and husband Bill, Huntingburg; one son, Shad Huffer and wife Aimee, Jasper; and four grandchildren, Brett, Brandon, Rachel, and Raya Dollaway.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, and from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday at Wellman Funeral Home in Circleville, Ohio. V.F.W. Post No. 673 will conduct military rites at Becher-Kluesner Funeral Home at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers or memorial contributions please send your prayers to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.becherkluesner.com. A worship service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Presbyterian Reformed Church of Jasper at 1330 E. 3rd Avenue. Rev. Brad Freeman will officiate. Private burial will be held at a later date.
