HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – The Southridge Lady Raiders bounced back after last Thursday’s last-second loss at North Knox in a big way back in the confines of Memorial Gym.

Southridge jumped out early and never looked back in its 74-23 win over PAC foe South Spencer.

Senior Kayla Voegerl, who was recognized prior to the game for eclipsing the career 1000 point mark of her career at North Knox (pictured with her parents), scored 28 in the win over the Lady Rebels.

Voegerl scored 22 in the first half alone of the ballgame to move into third place on the Lady Raiders all-time scoring list.  She now has 1046 career points; third only to Indiana Basketball Hall of Famer Marilyn Reckelhoff Dippel and Kara Meyer.  Dippel scored a Dubois County record 1,494 in her career before graduating in 1984.   Meyer scored 1231 points in her career.  She graduated in 2009.

Fellow senior Taylor Neukam added 14 against South Spencer.

Southridge improves to 15-3 with the win; 6-0 in the Pocket Athletic Conference.

The Lady Raiders host county rival Northeast Dubois Monday night. Southridge has already beaten fellow county schools Jasper and Forest Park this season.
