Bernice L. Dearing, 90, Huntingburg

Bernice L. Dearing, 90, of Huntingburg, died Wednesday (January 13) at the Northwood Good Samaritan Center in Jasper. She was born in Mariah Hill August 8, 1925, to Hugo and Minnie (Bredhold) Lubbehusen. She married James R. Dearing August 30, 1947, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg. He died January 5, 2007.

Bernice retired from Ducraft, a division of Styline. She was a member of the V.F.W. Post No. 2366 auxiliary and St. Mary’s Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by one son, Dennis “Pat” Dearning and wife Carolyn, Huntingburg; one daughter, Pam McLemore and husband Joe, Huntingburg; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Lubbehusen, and two sisters, Viola Wetzel and Esther Arnold.

Private family visitation from 9-10:30 a.m. Monday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary’s Church choir, Northwood Good Samaritan Center, or the V.F.W. Post No. 2366 auxiliary. Condolences may be shared online at www.nassandson.com. Friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at 11 a.m. (EST) Monday at St. Mary’s Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
