Wayne Gordon Guth, 84, Huntingburg

Wayne GuthWayne Gordon Guth, 84, of Huntingburg, died Wednesday (January 13) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Akron, Ohio, February 23, 1931, to Arthur and Mary (Wibbeler) Guth. He married Mildred Utz July 11, 1954, at Huntingburg United Methodist Church.

Wayne worked as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was employed by Green Construction and Olinger Construction Company, from where he retired. He was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church and the Jasper American Legion, was a volunteer worker with Habitat for Humanity and the United Methodist Nomads
on missions 8 years. He served in the United States Navy as a 2nd Class Engineman during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Guth; two daughters, Linda Guth Stangl, St. Louis, Missouri, and Sharon Rayls and husband Steve, Huntingburg; two sons, Jerry Guth and wife Jeannie, Petersburg, and Donald Guth, Winslow; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn, Herbert, and Leroy Guth.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. (EST) Friday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Memorial contributions can be made to your favorite charity. Condolences may be shared online at www.nassandson.com. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with burial following in the Santa Claus United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Keith Chanley will officiate at the service. Military funeral honors will be held at the gravesite.
