L. Charles Rinderknecht, 67, Ireland

ChasL. Charles Rinderknecht, 67, of Ireland, died January 7 in Richardson, Texas. He was born in Taylor, Texas, August 7, 1948, to Leonard Rinderkneccht and Lena Grabs Meeks. He married Kathryn Wehr November 7, 1987.

Charles was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1967 to 1971. He retired as driver/engineer for the Dallas Fire Department where he served for 34 years. He was a member of the Ireland Sportsman’s Club and the Dallas Retired Firefighters Association. He enjoyed traveling to Alaska and gold prospecting.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Rinderknecht; one son, C. Clayton Rinderknecht and wife Rebeka, Richardson, Texas; one sister, Tommie House and husband David, Toole, Texas; one brother, Steve Williams, Royse City, Texas; four grandchildren, Samantha, Alexander, Justin, and Charlie Jane Rinderknechto; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Williamson and Barbara Ponder, and his stepfather Andrew Meeks.

Friends may call from 4-8: p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dallas Firefighters Museum, 3801 Parry Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75226 (214) 821-1500. Online condolences may be made at Funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland with burial following in the church cemetery. VFW Post No. 673 will conduct military graveside rites.
