Boards Meet To Refocus On Proposed Cultural Center (VIDEO)

JASPER (NNDC) – For the proposed Jasper Cultural Center to become reality, it must included three components. One is space for a proposed new Jasper Library; two is space to house the city’s arts commission and three, commercial development.

The third component is needed in getting nearly $3.5 million in state tax credits. These credits are key to getting a needed referendum passed in November. That referendum is needed to pay for the library’s share of the project. Right now, the total project is estimated to cost a little more than $12 million not counting the credits.

The boards of both entities met Tuesday night. They are in agreement that the right commercial partner is also the key in getting the referendum passed. And that right developer may already be in the mix…
