Genealogy Program Thursday At Jasper Library

genealogy-newsroomJASPER (NNDC) – announced recently that it will no longer be selling its Family Tree Maker program and will be offering support to those who have purchased the program in the past for a limited time. This has caused some concern for those who have invested time in entering family information into the program and will now need to find an alternate way to access their family data.

The Jasper Public Library is offering a genealogy program to help genealogists who research and maintain records using computers. The focus will be on helping those who have previously used Family Tree Maker software. Discussions will cover alternative software programs, options for transferring family data to new programs, and ways genealogists may be able to continue using Family Tree Maker programs.

The program begins at 1:30 Thursday afternoon, January 7, in the Jasper Library Annex. Dubois County genealogist Kathy Mott will present the program. The program is open to the public, but pre-registration is required. To register call 812 482-2712. Seating is limited.
