Karen S. Hoffman, 55, Schnellville

Hoffman, KarenKaren S. Hoffman, 55, of Schnellville, died Thursday (December 31) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Jasper May 14, 1960, to Herbert O. “Boots” and Mary Ann (Hoffman) Schwenk. She married Daron Hoffman January 14, 1995, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland.

Karen was a 1978 graduate of Jasper High School. She worked at Leed’s Selling Tools for over 30 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, canning, and spending time with her children, family, and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Daron Hoffman; one daughter, Kaitlyn Hoffman, Schnellville; two sons, Nicholas and Tanner Hoffman, both of Schnellville; five sisters, Marilyn “Toot” Schwenk, Debbie Schwenk, and Shelly Main and husband Roy, all of Ireland, and Janet Kordes and husband Mark, and Jody Verkamp and husband Nathany, all of Jasper; and five brothers, Michael J. Schwenk and wife Debbie, Ronald Schwenk and wife Diane, Tim Schwenk and wife Donna, and Keith Schwenk, all of Ireland, and Mark Schwenk and wife Karen, Jasper.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Waller, and one brother, David Schwenk.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday at Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church or to a favorite charity.
