Two Employees Arrested For Felony Theft At Jasper Department Store

BECK MCTIERJASPER (NNDC) – Two employees at Carson’s Department Store have been arrested and charged with felony Theft for their alleged roles in fraudulent transactions and theft of items from the store on behalf of themselves, friends and family.

Arrested were 19-year old Taylor Beck of Jasper (pictured on left) and 31-year old Melissa McTier of French Lick (pictured on right).

Jasper police were called to the store shortly before 8:00PM Wednesday (December 30) where the two were being detained by the store’s Loss Prevention personnel.

Police and store officials determined the above two women had, on numerous occasions, checked each other out at cash registers, purchasing several items at a time and voiding those items from the transaction and then taking the items from the store.

Store officials say between the two women together have allegedly stolen at least $6619.31 worth of merchandise from Carson’s Jasper store since the 12th of this month.

Jasper police say both are charged with Level 6 felony Theft due to the dollar amount.
