St. Henry VFD Called To Assist At Spencer County House Fire

DALE (NNDC) – St. Henry firefighters were called to assist in battling a house fire overnight in northern Spencer County Tuesday night.

SHVFD Fire Chief Steve Eckerts says his department assisted with manpower and a tanker truck to rural residence in the vicinity of 6800 East 2100 North which north of Mariah Hill and south of I-64.

The sectional manufactured home was destroyed by fire.   SHVFD was called to assist shortly after 3:00 this (Wednesday) morning.

Local Man Arrested For Huffing Again

Dubois (NNDC) – For the second time in less than a month, a local man has been arrested for “huffing.”

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says they were called to the home of 18-year old Jace McKinney just before Midnight Monday evening after family members became concerned he was huffing duster.

DCSD deputies say they found an empty can of duster at the home in the vicinity of 4800 East Jasper-Dubois Road.

DCSD says McKinney admitted he had been huffing.   He’s charged with a misdemeanor count of Inhaling Vapors.

McKinney was also arrested for huffing back on November 30th

FPD Called To Two Local Property Damage Accidents Monday

FERDINAND (NNDC) – Minor damage was done to two vehicles involved in a parking lot accident at Masterbrand’s #4 plant Monday evening.

An SUV driven by 22-year old Diana Brown of Dale struck a parked pickup truck owned by Michael Young of St. Anthony.  Brown told Ferdinand police she was attempted to back out of her parking space while simultaneously trying to avoid a pedestrian standing nearby when her vehicle struck the pickup truck.

Meanwhile, no one was injured in an accident Monday afternoon at the intersection of 9th and Main streets.

Ferdinand say at about 3:30PM, 16-year old Amy Troesch of Ferdinand was driving south on Main attempting to turn left onto 9th at the same time 33-year old Adam Mohr, also of Ferdinand, was driving north on Main in his pickup truck.  Both drivers told FPD officers they did not see the other vehicle and the two collided.
