NEW YORK (Nexstar) – A chain Facebook post is making the rounds claiming Facebook will choose 1000 people to award with $4.5 million each for sharing a Facebook post.

Different variations of the post exist with some claiming Good Morning America confirmed the information.

No such confirmation from ABC or Good Morning America has been made, and a Facebook spokesman says the post is not real.

And fact-checking websites such as Snopes.com say that this chain post is a hoax.

They say this hoax began circulating shortly after Mark Zuckerberg announced the birth of his daughter and a pledge to giveaway 99% of his Facebook shares.

Zuckerberg did make a post on December 1 saying, “We will give 99% of our Facebook shares — currently about $45 billion — during our lives to join many others in improving this world for the next generation.”

However, Zuckerberg gives no details about how the shares will be distributed.
