Randy Cooper, 61, Birdseye

Randy CooperRandy Cooper, 61, of Birdseye, died Monday (December 14) at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. He was born in Huntingburg February 22, 1954, to Obie and Delores (Hoffman) Cooper. He married Gail R. Honaker June 15th, 1974 in Birdseye.

Randy worked for the Dubois County Highway Department for 30 years, retiring as a supervisor. He was a member of Bethlehem Masonic Lodge No. 574 in Birdseye and Nicholson Valley Church. He enjoyed serving the music ministry by playing the guitar. He was also a song writer and loved farming and riding horses.

He is survived by his wife, Gail R. Cooper; one daughter, Darlene Madden and husband Tommie, Birdseye; two sons, Josh Cooper and wife Laura and Chris Cooper, all of Birdseye; one sister, Anita Parrow and husband Butch, Minnesota; two brothers, Gary Cooper and wife Margie, and Jerry Cooper, all of Birdseye; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Kelly Zehr, and one sister-in-law, Kim Cooper.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Bethlehem Masonic Lodge No. 574 will conduct a masonic memorial service at 1:45 p.m. Condolences may be shared online at www.nassandson.com. Funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with burial following in Birdseye Cemetery. Pastor Albert Madden will officiate.
