Charles L. “Chuck” Meyer, 59, Jasper

Charles MeyerCharles L. “Chuck” Meyer, 59, of Jasper, died Monday (December 14) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Jasper August 10, 1956, to Louis and Olivia (Oser) Meyer. He married Cynthia K. Wehr March 21, 1981, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.

Chuck was a 1974 graduate of Jasper High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Wounded Veterans of Dubois County. He worked at Jasper Engines and Transmissions for almost 40 years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper and American Legion Post No. 147. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia K. Meyer; one son, Andrew Meyer and wife  Lindsey, Greenwood; two grandchildren, Noah and Rylie Meyer, both at home, Greenwood; his mother, Olivia Meyer, Jasper; one sister, Lois Recker and husband Mark, Dubois; two brothers, Kenny “Tex” Meyer and wife, Connie, Jasper; and Steven Meyer and wife, Barbara, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Meyer, and one brother, William “Bill” Meyer.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be made at Funeral services at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Church with burial following  in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Huntingburg. American Legion Post No. 147 will conduct military gravesite rites.
