Women Of The Heartland Program Scheduled January 23

Women of the Heartland logoJASPER (NNDC) – The 2016 Women of the Heartland program has been scheduled for Saturday, January 23, at the Huntingburg Event Center. Important women’s health topics will be discussed from 9 to 11 a.m. There is no admission fee, but donations will be accepted for the Integrative Medicine program at the Phillip R. Dawkins Heart and Vascular Center at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.

This year’s program topics include “Arthritis: What Is It and How Do I Conquer It?,” “Nutrition and Lifestyle Habits,” and “Women and Well-Being.” Orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Brian Woebkenberg, registered dietitian nutritionist and certified diabetes educator Melanie Buschkoetter, and practice manager for health and wellness and worksite clinics Susan Weisheit will share their knowledge during the program.

Pre-registration is required. Registration deadline is January 18. All women who attend the program will receive a gift certificate for a free blood screening, including total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglyceride, and glucose levels at the hospital outpatient labs.
