Fight Results In Arrest; Tire Falls Off Vehicle & Strikes Funeral Home Building (BLOTTER)

dasleben hausJASPER (NNDC) – A Jasper woman was arrested Sunday afternoon after an argument over a parking space escalated and became violent.

Jasper police say 50-year old Kimberlie Phillingane is charged with Battery (a Class A misdemeanor) following the incident that happened at about 12:35PM Sunday.

JPD says Phillingane was involved in an argument over a parking space near 15th and Jackson streets.  Both Phillingane and a man that were involved had returned to their separate residences before officers arrived.

However, injuries sustained by the man and witness statements determined that it was Phillingane who was the aggressor.  Phillingane was taken into custody.  JPD says she was taken to Memorial Hospital initially to be medically cleared due to her level of intoxication.

Tire Falls Off SUV; Strikes Funeral Home Building

JASPER (NNDC) – The outside wall of a local funeral home was damaged when a tire fell off a passing vehicle and struck the building late Sunday morning.

Jasper police say the SUV was driven by 23-year old Kyle Eason of Jasper. Eason told JPD officers he was driving northbound on Newton Street (U.S. 231) approaching 32nd Street at about 11:20AM when the left front tire came off the vehicle. Eason says the tire travelled onto the property of Becher-Kluesner’s Northside Chapel and striking a window. The tire went through the window coming to rest inside the building.

Damage estimate to the window & building was $400. JPD says Eason’s vehicle came to a stop on 32nd, just off Newton.
