Braunecker Named to College Sports Madness All-America First Team

Braunecker led Harvard with 48 receptions and 850 receivng yards in 2015

CAMBRIDGE, MA (Harvard University Athletics) – Harvard senior tight end Ben Braunecker of the Harvard football team has been tabbed to the College Sports Madness All-America first team, it was announced Thursday.

Braunecker, who will be playing in the upcoming NFLPA Collegiate Bowl Jan. 23, led Harvard with 48 receptions and 850 receiving yards on the year. A native of Ferdinand, Indiana, Braunecker caught eight TD passes and garnered All-Ivy League first-team honors.

Braunecker’s 850 receiving yards rank sixth-most for a single-season in school history and he graduates with 68 career receptions for 1,168 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Harvard finished 9-1 overall and 6-1 in the Ivy League, earning a share of its third-straight conference championship. The Crimson posted a 5-0 record on the road, and the senior class will graduate with a record of 36-4, tying last year’s class with the most victories for an Ancient Eight school in the Ivy era (since 1956). Harvard also defeated Yale for a series-record ninth-straight time.
