Jeeps, Cats, Raiders, Rangers Post BB Wins

JASPER (NNDC) – It was a very good weekend for local high school basketball teams, all four posting victories. In boys play, the Northeast Dubois Jeeps were the only ones to see action Friday night. They won a thriller at Washington Catholic, 55-49, in overtime. The Jeeps came back Saturday with a home court 62 to 58 win over Heritage Hills, giving them a sweep for the weekend.

Also on Saturday, the Jasper Wildcats downed Mt. Carmel, Illinois, 62 to 37, the Southridge Raiders defeated Corydon Central, 54 to 39, and the Forest Park Rangers rolled over Tell City, 70 to 39.

The  Lady Jeeps were also in action Friday in the North Daviess Tournament. The Dubois girls defeated Linton-Stockton in their tourney opener, 44 to 34, and then came back with a 41 to 32 win over Tecumseh to win the tournament championsip.

Also on Friday, the Forest Park Lady Rangers dropped a 65 to 54 decision to Gibson Southern.
