Mary Ann Uebelhor, 96, Jasper

Mary AMary Ann Uebelhor, 96, of Jasper, died Monday (November 30) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Jasper December 5, 1918, to Leander and Rose (Dick) Giesler. She married Edmund F. Uebelhor November 12, 1946, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. He died April 4, 2001.

Mary Ann was a homemaker and member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Holy Family, and a former member of the Jasper Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed quilting and playing cards.

She is survived by one daughter, Ann Leinenbach, Louisville; three sons, Maurice Uebelhor and wife Cindy, Leander, Texas, Glen Uebelhor and wife Linda, Jasper, and Stephen Uebelhor and wife Karen, Nashville; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Leona Knust and husband Lenny, Ferdinand, Sister Millie Giesler, St. Mary of the Woods, Terre Haute, and Viola Schroeder and husband Orville, Jasper; and one brother, Sylvester Giesler and wife Irene, Jasper.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ardella Heim and Florence Neuhoff, and four brothers, Edward, Herman, Robert, and Arnold Giesler.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be made at Funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery.
