Norbert F. Nordhoff, 66, Ferdinand

Norbert NordhoffNorbert F. Nordhoff, 66, of Ferdinand, died Tuesday (November 24) at IUPUI Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Celestine October 14, 1949, to Frank and Philomena “Minnie” (Hasenour) Nordhoff. He married Patricia Demuth August 10, 1968, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand.

Norbert was a retired turkey farmer. He was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish and St. Meinrad Knights of Columbus Council 5599. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Nordhoff; five sons, Kent Nordhoff and Kevin Nordhoff and wife Staci all of Ferdinand, Keith “BB” Nordhoff and wife Staci, Velpen, Kregg Nordhoff and wife Robyn, Kyana, and Kurt Nordhoff and wife Jacqueline “Jacque,” Celestine; one daughter, Kelly Hauser and husband Brian, Schnellville; three brothers, Clarence Nordhoff and wife “Verena,” Celestine, Robert Nordhoff and wife Janice, Jasper, and Jerome Nordhoff and wife Rita, Birdseye; three sisters, Doris Weyer and husband Tom and Vernita Klem and husband Alvin, all of St. Anthony, and Marilyn Fleck and husband Tom, Huntingburg; and 10 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, who died in infancy.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday and from 7-9:30 a.m. Monday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be shared at Funeral services at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Henry Catholic Church with burial following in St. Ferdinand Church Cemetery.
