Conservation Officers Seeking Information in ATV Accident that Sent Three Juveniles to the Hospital

user31750-1448670755-media1BIRDSEYE (Local Sources) – Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV accident that occurred around 5:15pm on Thanksgiving.

Three juveniles were on an ATV riding on Harts Gravel Road near Birdseye Indiana. According to the subjects a red truck drove up from behind them and struck the ATV. The vehicle then left the scene of the accident (pictured).

The operator of the ATV Maurice Campbell – Brown (15) of Owensboro (KY) lost control and the ATV rolled down an embankment. Brown and his passengers Hunter Mendoza (13) of Jasper and Catalina Mendoza (12) of Birdseye were ejected.

All three subjects suffered non life threatening injuries and were transported to Memorial Hospital in Jasper Indiana for treatment and evaluation.

ATV protective gear was not being worn.

Responding agencies included the Dubois County Sheriffs Department, Birdseye Fire Department, Memorial Ambulance Service and Indiana Conservation Officers.
