Two Jasper Women Charged With OWI (BLOTTER)

JASPER (NNDC) – Two Jasper Women – Leesa R. Gilbert, 39, and Ashley R. Dupont, 30 – were arrested Wednesday and charged with operating vehicles while intoxicated (OWI).

Jasper City Police received a report of possible intoxicated driver at 6:13 Wednesday evening northbound on Newton Street from 13th. The report advised there was a juvenile in the vehicle with the driver. Officers located the vehicle veering left of the center line as it was entering the Walmart parking lot. Gilbert tested .15, was arrested and lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.

At 9 p.m. Wednesday police received a complaint of an intoxicated driver in the area of the Hometown IGA. Upon arrival officers found the vehicle, which was empty. Later they observed a female subject entering the vehicle and driving south out of the parking lot. They observed the driver sitting stationary at a green light for several seconds at the intersection of U.S. 231 and 2nd Street. The driver then performed an unsafe start, spinning the vehicle’s wheels and traveling quickly across the intersection toward Big Lots. Police stopped the vehicle in the parking lot and after investigation it was determined that Dupont was intoxicated. She was taken to Memorial Hospital for a blood draw and tested .197%. She was charged with OWI and OWI Endangerment and is lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.
