Martin E. Buschkoetter, 76, Jasper

buschkoetter editedMartin E. Buschkoetter, 76, of Jasper, died Tuesday (November 24) at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. He was born in St. Henry August 26, 1939, to Ben and Lucille (Heim) Buschkoetter. He married Sharon Mehringer May 18, 1961, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper.

Martin was employed by Kimball for over 40 years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, the Jasper Moose, the Ireland Sportsman Club, and was a director of Jasper Outdoor Recreation. He enjoyed woodworking, puzzles, playing cards, fishing, farming, and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Indiana University basketball and Indianapolis Colts football fan.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Buschkoetter; two daughters, Cheryl Seger and husband, Pat, Dubois, and Pamela Weyer and husband, Tony, Ferdinand; two sons,

Rick Buschkoetter and wife Sherry, Jasper, and Mike Buschkoetter and companion Debbie Kerstiens, Ferdinand; six grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Sickbert and husband, Art, Jasper, and Mary Lou Sanders and husband, Albert, Huntingburg; and four brothers, Anthony Buschkoetter and Ben Buschkoetter and wife, Debbie, all of Huntingburg, Charles Buschkoetter, Dubois, and Paul Buschkoetter, Petersburg.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Buschkoetter, one daughter-in-law, Christy Buschkoetter, one grandson, Garrett Weyer, one sister, Bertha Veller, one brother, John Buschkoetter, and one sister-in-law, Mary Lou Buschkoetter.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The Jasper Moose will present a memorial service at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be made at Funeral services at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery.
