Santa Claus Is Coming To Town Next Week (with VIDEO)

JASPER (By Nancy Eckerle) – The Greater Downtown Jasper Business Association is happy to announce the details for Santa Claus to make his arrival in Jasper.  As something different for this year – – this event will happen on Friday, November 27th during the day. Santa’s arrival will brighten your child’s day and they can visit with him in his special house, too.

You will capture the spirit of Christmas as you gather around the beautifully decorated downtown Square in anticipation of Santa, parading from the Fire Station to his special house, in a bright red fire truck.

You are welcome to meet with Santa at the Fire Station from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m.

At 1:00 p.m. Santa will board the Fire Truck and will be joined by his elves and members of the Jasper High School Band until they reach the West Side of the Square.  Children are encouraged to dress up like Christmas packages and walk along with the mini-parade.

As band members play Christmas music an elementary school contest winner will open the door of Santa’s Special House – so he and his elves can greet children for the remainder of the holiday season. Mayor Seitz will be on hand to welcome everyone with a special greeting.

Santa will then spend a few hours visiting with children in his special Christmas House, until 3:00 p.m.  Each child will receive a candy cane.  Be sure to bring your camera and take pictures so that memories can be created for your little ones.

Children and families are also encouraged to bring canned foods and these items will all be donated to the Community Food Bank.
