Huntingburg Man Arrested For Disorderly Conduct; DCSD Looking For Dubois Mailbox Vandals (BLOTTER)



HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – A Huntingburg man is facing charges of Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Law Enforcement after an incident Sunday afternoon.

Huntingburg police say 34-year old Aaron Stutsman was found destroying personal property inside a home at 804 West 9th Street when officers arrived at shortly after 3:00PM Sunday.

An HPD officer says Stutsman several times refused police orders to calm down and to lower his voice. This, after police saw him scatter trash in the home’s driveway.

He was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. HPD says while Stutsman was being taken into custody he became aggressive and resisted the arrest.

Both Drivers Cited In Two-Vehicle Jasper Accident

JASPER (NNDC) – No one was hurt, but both drivers involved in a two-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon were cited by police. Jasper police say 27-year old Heather Breeding of Jasper was driving south on Leopold Street when she failed to yield to a westbound car on 16th Street and the two cars collided. The westbound car was driven by 31-year old Amanda Jo Conley of Jasper.

JPD says Breeding was cite for Failure to Yield while Conley was cited for Driving While Suspended and for Driving Without Insurance. The accident happened at about 3:20PM Sunday.

Mailbox Vandalism Reported In Dubois Area

DUBOIS (NNDC) – The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department is looking for the person or people responsible for a large number of mailboxes being vandalized in the Dubois area.

DCSD says at least a half-dozen mailboxes were damaged over the weekend, including three along Dubois Road Northwest and two in town along 4th Street.

DCSD is asking the public for help in finding the person or people responsible for the damage. Anyone with information can call the sheriff’s department at 812-482-3522. All calls can remain anonymous.
