Local Man Arrested For Battery On A Police Officer and Public Intoxication At Local Church

JASPER (NNDC) – A Jasper man faces several charges after he was found unresponsive inside a locked vehicle in the parking lot of the Christian Church of Jasper.   Police were called to CCJ at about 9:00AM.

Jasper Police say officers had to break open the back window of the vehicle in order to get inside where they found 32-year old Antonio Arteaga II passed out.

Arteaga’s blood alcohol content later tested . 14%.

JPD says while Arteaga was being transported to the Dubois County Security Center, he became disorderly and spit in the face of a police officer.

He’s charged with Battery by Bodily Wast on a Law Enforcement Officer (a Level 6 felony), along with a Class B misdemeanor count of public intoxication.

JASPER (NNDC) – A Jasper man was arrested Saturday afternoon after police found him intoxicated and running naked through a local motel.

Arrested was 25-year old Weston Rust of Jasper.  JPD says officers were called to the EconoLodge Motel  on Indiana Street (at U.S. 231) on a report of a male subject running naked in the building.

After being taken to Memorial Hospital to get clearance for what police say was a “high level of intoxication,” Weston was taken to the Dubois County Security Center.  JPD says while being booked in, Rust started fighting with police officers.  The officers were able to quickly subdue him though during the confrontation, Rust did throw a punch and struck an officer in the chest, according to JPD.

Weston is charged with Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Public Nudity and Public Indecency.
