Marsha StecklerMarsha Jane Steckler, 54, of St. Henry, died Wednesday (October 28). She was born in Jasper December 16, 1960, to Robert J. and Georgene (Jeannie) Hochgesang Wagner. She married Jerome “Jerry” Steckler May 3, 1980, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland.

Marsha enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, reading, playing board games, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers. She taught religious education at St. Henry Parish for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Steckler; six daughters, Charmain Klem and husband Barry, Bretzville, Shelly Hedinger and husband Dwayne, Mariah Hill, Rachael Waninger and husband Brent, Ferdinand, Jill Sermersheim and husband Luke, Huntingburg, Lindsey Hoffman and husband Phil, Dale, and Lezlie Steckler, at home; one son, Isaac Steckler, at home; her mother, Georgene (Jeannie) Wagner, Ireland; eight brothers, Steve and wife Vicky Wagner, Huntingburg, Terry Wagner and wife Brenda, and Rennie Wagner and wife Pam, all of Jasper, Tom Wagner and wife Mary, Ronnie Wagner and wife Sarah, Sam Wagner and wife Susan, and Don Wagner, all of Ireland; and Rob Wagner and wife Christy, Zionsville; two sisters, Joan Wagner, Ireland, and Cheryl Fromme and husband Dan, Portersville; one brother-in-law, Earl Delp, Ft. Meyers, Florida; and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Melissa Steckler, her father, Robert Wagner, one sister, Ruth Wagner, and one brother Randy Wagner.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday and from 9-10 a.m. at St. Henry Church. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Monday at the church with burial following in the church cemetery.
