Helen Linette, 83, of Birdseye, died Tuesday (October 20) at St. Mary’s Hospital and Health Care Center in Evansville. She was born in Perry County December 24, 1931, to Edwin and Sophia (Bretz) Miller. She married Edwin Joseph (Babe) Linette May 30, 1951, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Siberia. He died June 13, 1990.

Helen was a member of St. Martin of Tours Parish. She enjoyed flowers, birds, reading, and being with her grandchildren, and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs.

She is survived by one son, Wayne Linette and wife Donna, Birdseye; one daughter, Brenda Ransome and husband Robert, Bristow; four grandchildren, Amy Cline, Lindsey Ransome, Megan Harris and Wes Linette; and one great-grandchild, Aliese Harris.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Sam Miller, and two sisters, Rose Alice Darby and Mildred Denu.

Friends may call from 1-7 p.m. Thursday (CDT) at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Martin of Tours Church Cemetery Fund. Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Martin Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
