Police Respond To “Burglary In Progress” And Make Arrest For Felony Drunk Driving



JASPER (NNDC) – A call to Jasper police about a possible burglary in progress resulted in an arrest for felony drunk driving.

JPD officers were called to the Geoplex Apartments in the 400 block of Kirkwood Avenue at about 12:45 Thursday afternoon.

A witness told officers a woman who had allegedly tried to kick in the front door of an apartment had already left the scene.

A short time later, police later located 40-year old Kristina Hess in her car at the Sav-A-Lot store parking lot in the 3600 block of Newton Street. Hess lives in apartment.

JPD says Hess drove to the store parking lot. JPD says her blood alcohol content tested .223%

She was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle while Intoxicated. The charge is a Level 6 felony because of a previous conviction for the same offense in the last five years.
