Emerging Leaders Seeking Nominations For Year End Grant

foundationJASPER (NNDC) – Dubois County Emerging Leaders is seeing nominations for this year’s grant. Nonprofits should apply with an online application form found at www.elgiving.org no later than Friday, October 30.

The giving circle will select the 2015 grant recipient at a live grant party Thursday, November 12. All 501c3 nonprofit organizations in Dubois County are eligible to submit a nomination.

Last year’s $5,000 grant was presented to Mentors for Youth, an organization dedicated to facilitating mutually beneficial relationships between youth and volunteers for the purpose of enhancing individual lives and the community. The grant was used to upgrade software that tracks the matches between youth and mentors in the program, allowing them to improve service and better monitor outcomes.

Emerging Leaders, a giving circle established in 2012, is a way for individuals to pool their funds to strengthen communities in Dubois County. Each participant commits to giving as little as $120 per individual or $180 per couple each year. Contributors then vote on where the grant will be directed. To date, Dubois County Emerging Leaders, which is administered by Dubois County Community Foundation, has granted over $18,000 to local charities.
