Beatrice L. “Betsy” Aders, 85, St. Meinrad

Betsy AdersBeatrice L. “Betsy” Aders, 85, of St. Meinrad, died Friday at St. Charles Health Care Campus in Jasper. She was born in St. Meinrad February 24, 1930, to Frank and Philomena (Rickelman) Werne. She married Russell Aders June 20, 1953, in St. Meinrad. He died March 19, 1991.

Betsy was an accounts receivable clerk at Abbey Press in St. Meinrad. She was a lifelong member of St. Meinrad Parish, a member of The Red Hat Society, and St. Meinrad Legion Post No. 366 Auxillary. She was an avid Indiana University basketball fan, Notre Dame football fan, St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, traveling, and being with family and friends.

She is survived by three sons, Gary Aders and wife Debbie, Yuma, Arizona, Larry Aders, Herrin, Illinois, and Terry Aders and wife Linda, Plainfield; five daughters, Paula Peter and husband Jim, Jasper, Sandy Kays and husband Mark, Huntingburg, Brenda Gilliland and husband Mike, Indianapolis, Rose Fischer and husband Scott, St. Meinrad, and Donna McGinness and husband Steve, Evansville; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Anna Mae Werne, St. Meinrad.

In addition to her parents and husband Betsy was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Ernest, and Benno Werne, five sisters, Regina Murray, Loraine Fischer, Esther Stenftenagel, Mary Lou Erny, and Dolores Werne

Friends may call after noon Tuesday at St. Meinrad Church. Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Meinrad Church. Online condolences at Funeral services 2 p.m. (CDT) Tuesday at St. Meinrad Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
