Steven Allen McEllhiney, 61, Huntingburg

Steven McESteven Allen McEllhiney, 61, of Huntingburg, died Wednesday (October 7) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Princeton October 25, 1953, to Bill and Barbara (Moore) McEllhiney. He married Kathleen Young June 8, 1973. at Fairview Presbyterian Church in Francisco.

Steven retired from McEllhiney Construction Company as a self-employed builder and was then employed by the Southwest Dubois County School Corporation as a maintenance worker. He enjoyed building various projects at home and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen McEllhiney; one daughter, Jennifer Murphy and husband Kelly, Huntingburg; two sons, two sons, Tyler McEllhiney and wife Cortni, Francisco, and Shane McEllhiney and wife Leslie, Boonville; his parents, Bill and Barbara McEllhiney, Fort Branch; five brothers, Stan McEllhiney, Clarksville, Tennessee, John McEllhiney, Princeton, Jeff McEllhiney, Boonville, Rob McEllhiney, Nashville, Tennessee, and James McEllhiney, Francisco; one sister, Bridget Reidford, Haubstadt; and eight grandchildren, Devin, Owen, Wyatt, Maggie, Ashlyn, Brady, Mack, and Reed.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, one uncle, Jim McEllhiney, and one aunt, Rose McEllhiney.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (EDT) Saturday at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Condolences may be shared online at Funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with burial following in Fairview Cemetery in Francisco. Pastor Paul Newland, Craig Taylor, and Kelley Murphy will officiate at the service.
