HPD Arrests Two On Felony Drug Charges

HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – Two people were arrested Monday night on various drug charges.

Huntingburg police say at about 8:15PM officers were called to a possible domestic disturbance in the 500 block of East 7th Street.  When officer arrived, they were not able to find any “troubled” people in the area, but they did locate the origin of burnt marijuana outside a house at 533 East 7th Street.

After obtaining a search warrant, HPD officers found what they describe as numerous items of paraphernalia, smoking/snorting devices, prescription pills, syringes and several substances that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Two people inside the home, 27-year old Cole Denton, who lives at the house, and 36-year old Jamie Manning of Petersburg were arrested without incident.

Denton is charged with four Level 6 felony counts; one each of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Legend (Prescription) Drug, Maintaining a Common Nuisance and Possession of a Syringe.  He also faces a Class A misdemeanor count of Possession of Paraphernalia.

Meanwhile, Manning was charged with three Level 6 felony counts; one each of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Legend (Prescription) Drug, and  Possession of a Syringe.  She is also charged with a Class A misdemeanor count of Possession of Paraphernalia, and a Class B misdemeanor charge of Visiting a Common Nuisance.
