Eugenia “Jeanie” Mehringer, 90, Ireland

Jeannie MehringerEugenia “Jeanie” Mehringer, 90, of Ireland, died Saturday (October 3) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. She was born in Ireland June 27, 1925, Robert and Alice (Renner) Sermersheim. She married Marvin H. Mehringer August 27, 1946, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland. He died October 6, 1982.

Jeanie was a homemaker and retired from the deli department at Buehler’s IGA. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and its St. Ann’s Society and the VFW Post No. 673 auxilary. She enjoyed cooking , flowers, and spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by five daughters, Patty Beck and husband Dennis, Velpen, Connie Gutzweiler and husband Joe and Donna Slade, all of Roswell, Georgia, Karen Neuhoff and husband Tom, Huntingburg, and Deborah Mehringer, Jasper; five sons, Steve Mehringer and wife Paula, Roswell, Georgia, and Larry Mehringer and wife Kathy, and Duane, Mark, and Kurt Mehringer, all of Jasper; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marian Lynch and husband James, Jeffersonville.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Humbert, and one son-in-law, Dean Slade.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. The St. Mary’s St. Ann’s Society will pray the rosary at 3:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church, or to a favorite charity.
