GIRLS SOCCER

Jasper 7 Forest Park 0

At Jasper, the Lady Wildcats finish their most successful season in school history with a 7-0 win over Forest Park in the annual “Kick Cancer” game between the two schools.

Jasper scores six goals in the first half. The Lady Wildcats score first 12 minutes into the match Summer Herzog found the goal from 40 yards out. Halfway through the first half, Annie Stout made a couple of nice moves inside the goalie box and laid a pass off for Olivia Ruckriegel for Jasper’s second goal.

A few minutes later, Sara Carpenter sent a through ball to Hannah Love who collected the pass and shot it near post past the keeper for a 3-0 lead.

With 4 minutes left in the half, Madisyn Hunt scored after making a long run with the aid of an Anna Charron pass. Brittany Haskins scored Jasper’s 5th goal as Annie Stout recorded her 2nd assist of the match.

As time was expiring in the first half, Jasper’s Annie Stout was fouled in the box on a corner kick. Anna Charron hit the PK for a 6-0 halftime lead. Brittany Haskins scored late in the 2nd half with the assist from Reagan Otto.

Jasper improves to 13-2-2 which goes down as Jasper best all-time regular season record, and scored its 78th goal of the season which is another program record.

Jasper travels to the Castle sectional where they will face Class 2A #8 Evansville Memorial next Thursday (October 8th).

Forest Park, which played the game with just eight players so all eight had to play the entire game, falls to 3-10-1 for the season with one more home game Saturday with Pike Central.
