Robert C. Oser, Sr., 89, Huntingburg

Robert OserRobert C. Oser, Sr., 89, of Huntingburg, died Monday (September 28) at his home. He was born in Huntingburg June 11, 1926, to Henry and Clair (LeClere) Oser. He married Alma K. Kordes September 4, 1954, at St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Robert retired from Kimball International where he was employed for 38 years. He also worked at the Crane Naval base. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Y.M.I. Council No. 497, and V.F.W. Post No. 2366. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, going on drives through the countryside, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Southridge Raider fan. He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Alma K. Oser; two daughters, Pam Gehlhausen and husband Randy, and Chris Beckman and husband Scott, all of Jasper; five sons, Robert C. Oser, Jr., and wife Kathie and Keith Oser and wife Denise, all of Holland; Bill Oser and wife Theresa, Brownsburg, and Jeff Oser and wife Brenda, and Shane Oser, all of Huntingburg; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Memorial contributions can be made to the V.F.W. Post #2366. Funeral services at 10 a.m. (EDT) Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial following in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post 2366 memorial detail.
