One Injured In Rollover Accident East Of Celestine

CELESTINE (NNDC) – The driver of the car involved in a single-vehicle rollover accident Sunday evening was transported to Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says 18-year old Gabriel Grow of Jasper was westbound on Indiana 164 near South 900 East at about 7:10PM when for an unknown reason, he car went left of center in a curve and ran off the southside of the highway.  DCSD says Grow’s car struck a guardrail and then went airborne as it went down a steep embankment before rolling several times and striking a tree.  The car came to rest on its passenger side.

DCSD says Grow was wearing his seatbelt which lessened the severity of his injuries.

He was taken to Memorial Hospital with pain to his hip and numerous abrasions.

DCSD says Grow’s car was heavily damaged.  Also damaged was a 30-feet section of guardrail owned by the state and a private fence owned by Tony Buechler of rural Celestine.
