“Donuts” Land Local Man In Jail

JASPER (NNDC) – A Jasper man who police say was doing “donuts” with his vehicle in the parking lot of Jaycee Park ended up spending the night in jail.

Jasper police say an officer was patrolling the area near 15th and Bartley streets just before Midnight Wednesday when he heard a vehicle that was driving recklessly. The officer found 34-year old Douglas Leistner of Jasper doing “donuts” in the Jaycee Park parking lot.

After making contact with Leistner, the JPD officer determined that Leistner had been drinking. Police say Leistner was also in possession of a marijuana pipe. Police also say Leistner admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the evening.

Leistner was taken to JPD headquarters for a certified chemical test. Police say Leistner’s blood alcohol content tested .094%.
