Public Test To Be Conducted For New Voting Machines

MicroVote_Infinity_2JASPER (NNDC) – Dubois County Clerk Bridgette Jarboe has announced there will be a public test of the new Microvote Infinity voting machines on Friday, October 2nd, at 8:00AM in the public access room of the Dubois County Clerk’s Office at the Dubois County Courthouse in Jasper.

The test, which is required by state law will be conducted by the members of the Dubois County Election Board.

“We will be physically testing at least three of the random machines to ensure that every candidate receives votes correctly,” said Jarboe. “There will also be sample absentee ballot cards counted to once again make sure that every candidate on the ballot receives votes,” she added. The test will also verify that the votes are counted correctly.

The public, candidates, representatives from political parties, and members of the media are welcome to attend.

Once the test is concluded and the board members certify that everything works properly, the machines will be reset to zero, sealed and locked away until General Election Day, November 3rd, 2015.
