Jasper Man Succumbs To Injuries From Accident North Of Ferdinand (with VIDEO)

FERDINAND (NNDC) – A Jasper man has died from the injuries he suffered in a two-vehicle accident north of Ferdinand last week.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says 71-year old Leroy Witte passed away Tuesday at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville from head and chest injuries he suffered in the crash.

He was a passenger in a utility terrain vehicle when it was struck by an SUV along Indiana 162 last Thursday afternoon near East 815 South north of Ferdinand.

The driver of the UTV, 74-year old Edgar Ebert of Ferdinand remains hospitalized at St. Mary’s. The driver of the SUV, 29-year old Sally Stout of Jasper was not injured.

A dog that was with the two men in the UTV was killed.
