Buechlein Will Reign Over This Year’s Herbstfest

Queen 2HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – Erica Buechlein is the 2015 Miss Herbstfest. The 17-year old Southridge High School senior was crowned Sunday during the annual queen’s pageant at Southridge High School.

Erica is the daughter of Bob Buechlein and Angie Brooks of Jasper. She was also named Miss Photogenic.

She is a member of the SHS Cheer Team, PEP, BPA, Key Club, German Club, Student Council, and Choir. She is also involved with the March of Dimes, Riley’s Children’s Hospital fundraisers, and volunteering at the Teen Outback.

She plans to go to college to study education or psychology. Her sponsor is Ron’s Place of Huntingburg.

17-year old Jessica Hilsmeyer was awarded First Runnerup. She is the daughter of Terry and Karen Hilsmeyer of Huntingburg. She is also a senior at Southridge High School where she is a member of the Cheer Team, FFA, FCA, National Honor Society, Outdoors Club, and she is Class Secretary. She is also a member of Girl Scouts and is the secretary for the St. Henry Saints 4-H Club. She plans to become an E.R. Nurse.

Second Runnerup went to Bailey Barrett. She is the 17-year old daughter of Scott and Carla Barrett of Huntingburg. She too is a senior at Southridge High School where she is a member of the Cheer Team, Diving Team, Track Manager, Student Council, National Honors Society, PEP, SADD, FCA, German Club, and is a cadet teacher at Huntingburg Elementary School. She is also a member of St. Mary’s Youth Group, participates in church mission trips and TEC #92, and is a member of the Holland Dutchman 4-H Club. She plans to become an elementary school teacher after graduating from college.

Erica and her court will reign over the 2015 Huntingburg Herbstfest which is this weekend!
