Kloe Doing Fine Following Surgery; Donations Being Sought (PHOTOS)

JASPER (NNDC) – Earlier this week, a one-year old chihuahua was found on Jasper’s far southside suffering from three pelvic fractures and a femur fracture after she was struck by a passing car. A passerby found Kloe near Gudorf Supply on South Third Avenue Sunday afternoon.

Officer Brian Lampert says he found Kloe laying up against the Gudorf building.  He thinks she crawled up to the building from the street on he own.

Lampert says Kloe did not appear to be in great pain but, she was shivering and was obviously scared.

The Dubois County Humane Society took Kloe to the East Pines Animal Clinic in Boonville which specializes in orthopedic surgery for dogs. Sami Byers with East Pines says Kloe’s surgery was a success…

Byers says Kloe is sore still this morning, but he getting plenty care and love…

Byers says Kloe will stay at the clinic until Monday for some needed post-surgical therapy. The estimated vet costs for Kloe will be $5,000.

Volunteers with the Dubois County Humane Society have been seeking donations since Tuesday night.

More than $2,000 in donations have been raised so far. Donations can be made at www.duboiscountyhumane.org/paypal-donations.html. Donations can also been made at the humane society’s shelter at 426 Wernsing Road, Jasper.

Any surplus donations will go to the medical costs of other animals at the shelter.
