Geraldine “Gerry” LeMastus, 86, Jasper

Gerry editedGeraldine “Gerry” LeMastus, 86, of Jasper, died Tuesday (September 15) at her home. She was born in Jasper October 4, 1928, to Roman and Carrie (Hoffman) Kunkel. She married Gerald “Bill” LeMastus April 12, 1951, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. He died December 27, 1990.

Gerry retired as co-owner of The Gallery in Jasper. She also was an artist and operated a graphic design shop in Jasper for many years. She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church and the Precious Blood Ladies Society. She volunteered at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center. Her hobbies were artistic endeavors, golfing, sewing, and playing cards.

She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Hilsmeyer and husband Tom, Jasper; three sons, Jim “Bo” LeMastus, Louisville, Don LeMastus, Orlando, Florida, and John LeMastus and wife Kristen, Louisville; six grandchildren, Brooke, Stacey, Tim, Greg, MeKenzie and Jackie. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by seven sisters, Catherine “Catty” Rohleder, Antoinette “Net” Birge, Maxine Barnett, Betty Fleck, Roma McCloskey, LeNore “Kink” Whaley, and Anna Mae “Mazie” Fehribach, and one brother, Marvin “Bud” Kunkel.

Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel and from 9 -11 a.m. Friday at Precious Blood Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Precious Blood Church. Funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at Precious Blood Church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery.
